Welcome to the School of Electrical and Communications Engineering at the Papua New Guinea University of Technology (PNGUoT).
It is my pleasure to welcome you to our School, where we are committed to excellence in engineering education, research, innovation, and community engagement. As the Head of School, I am honoured to lead a dedicated team of academics and professional staff who are passionate about developing the next generation of engineers capable of addressing the technological challenges of Papua New Guinea and beyond.
Our School offers a stimulating learning environment that combines strong theoretical foundations with practical experience through modern laboratories, industry-based projects, internships, and research activities. We continuously review and enhance our academic programmes to ensure that our graduates possess the technical competence, critical thinking skills, ethical values, and leadership qualities demanded by today’s rapidly evolving engineering profession.
As emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy systems, smart grids, Embedded systems, industrial automation, robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and advanced communication networks reshape our world, our School remains committed to preparing graduates who are innovative, adaptable, and ready to contribute to sustainable national development. Our academic staff and postgraduate students are actively engaged in research across diverse areas, including power systems, renewable energy technologies, smart grids, telecommunications, embedded systems, signal processing, artificial intelligence, robotics, industrial automation, Internet of Things (IoT) applications, and sustainable engineering solutions.
