AI Automation Architect

AI Automation Architect
Reporting to the Director ICTS, the AI Automation Architect will lead the strategic design, development, and deployment of intelligent automation solutions across enterprise systems. This role requires a visionary professional who can merge artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and robotic process automation (RPA) to streamline operations, reduce manual workload, and drive digital innovation. The successful candidate will serve as the technical authority on automation architecture, ensuring that all implemented solutions align with organizational goals, data governance standards, and emerging technologies in AI.
Primary Responsibilities
- Architect and Design Automation Systems: Develop and implement end-to-end AI-driven automation architectures to enhance both business and IT operations.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with cross-functional departments to identify automation opportunities leveraging AI/ML, natural language processing (NLP), and RPA technologies.
- Develop and Deploy Models: Build scalable, production-ready AI models and integrate them into enterprise systems through CI/CD pipelines.
- Tool and Platform Evaluation: Assess and recommend AI platforms, automation tools, and cloud-based solutions that best fit organizational strategy and scalability needs.
- Compliance and Governance: Ensure that all AI and automation solutions adhere to ethical AI principles, data governance frameworks, cybersecurity standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Innovation and Prototyping: Lead proof-of-concept and pilot initiatives to test new automation approaches before enterprise rollout.
- Mentorship and Leadership: Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and adherence to best practices in intelligent automation.
Qualification & Experience
- PhD, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in AI/ML development, automation architecture, or software engineering.
- Advanced proficiency in Python, and familiarity with AI frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
- Practical experience with RPA platforms like UiPath, Automation Anywhere, or Blue Prism.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of data engineering, APIs, microservices, and system integration.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to translate technical solutions into business value.
- Industry certifications in AI/ML, Cloud Architecture, or RPA technologies.
- Experience in AutoML, Large Language Models (LLMs), or Generative AI applications.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines.
Note: This position requires someone who can work long hours and sometimes weekends as well as when required.
Conditions of Service
- Base Salary: PGK 95,366 – PGK116,558 per annum
- Domestic Market Allowance (DMA): PGK43,069-PGK74,653 per annum
- International Market Allowance (IMA): PGK105,320-PGK162,617 per annum
(Level of appointment depends upon qualification and experience)
