Student Counsellor 

Reporting directly to the Deputy Registrar, the primary role of the Student Counsellor is to help students to overcome their problems and cope with tough situations by providing a safe, confidential and encouraging environment in which to contemplate their emotional state.

Primary Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate periodic inspections of facilities, ensuring they are well kept for intended uses.
  • Plan and schedule preventative maintenance on a timely basis and track progress reports of outcomes.
  • Ensure effective management of recorded statistics, reports and documents for ease of access.
  • Coordinate with subordinates to ensure Facilities are well managed and in good condition to accommodate and service students.
  • Ensure the proper usage of work associated equipment and instruments and that they are in good condition.
  • Coordinate and manage administrative operations, and financial expenses (if any) and provide updated financial reports.
  • Device operational procedures to govern the use of all student facilities.
  • Enforce rules and regulations on the use of facilities.

Qualification & Experience

The successful candidate should:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Property Management and/or Business Administration.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Being proactive and a problem-solver with the ability to lead and organize people, foster and manage productive relationships, conduct inspections and audits.
  • Possesses Inventory and Asset Management skills.

Knowledge of property management and administration is an essential element of this role.

Conditions of Service

  • Assistant Registrar I – K40,781 – K49,843          DMA – K1,800 (Domestic Market Allowance)

  • Assistant Registrar  II – K46,556 – K56,902        DMA: K6,677  (Domestic Market Allowance)

(Level of appointment depends upon qualification and experience)
