The Papua New Guinea University of Technology (PNGUoT) is in the industrial city of Lae, the second largest city in Papua New Guinea. The city of Lae has an airport with flights to any location in PNG. The University is the only technological university in the Pacific. It has a main campus and three amalgamated colleges. The main campus has 14 academic schools under 6 faculties including a Department of Open and Distance Learning (DODL). It offers undergraduate and graduate programs in engineering, natural and applied sciences, built environment, language, and business. About the Role
The Papua New Guinea University of Technology invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates in Agricultural Engineering for the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Agricultural Engineering within the School of Agriculture, Faculty of Natural Resources at the PNG University of Technology.
This position seeks for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate in agricultural engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to excellence teaching, research, and innovation in agricultural engineering. The appointee will support the development of sustainable agricultural technologies, mechanization, irrigation systems, post-harvest engineering, and climate smart farming solutions.

The candidate will be required to:
- Deliver teaching in agricultural engineering.
- Conduct research and publish findings.
- Supervise student research.
- Develop curricula and laboratory practicals.
- Secure research funding.
- Engage with industry and communities.
- Contribute to academic administration.
Qualification & Experience
- PhD (or Master’s for Lecturer level) in Agricultural Engineering.
- Teaching experience at tertiary level.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Expertise in mechanization, irrigation, post-harvest, renewable energy, precision agriculture.
Conditions of Service
Lecturer
- Base Salary Ranger: K47,060 – K67,702 per annum. (Citizen)
- Base Salary Ranger: K55, 393 – K67, 702 per annum. (Non-Citizen)
- DMA Range: K 13,639 – K31,585 per annum (DMA = Domestic Market Allowance)
- IMA Range: K75, 280 – K90, 502 per annum (IMA = International Market Allowance)
Senior Lecturer:
- Base Salary Ranger: K66, 060 – K80, 740 per annum. (Citizen)
- Base Salary Ranger: K66, 060 – K80, 740 per annum. (Non-Citizen)
- DMA Range: K22, 683 – K40, 199 per annum (DMA = Domestic Market Allowance)
- IMA Range: K88, 058 – K107, 159 per annum (IMA = International Market Allowance)
