Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following position within the University:
Accreditation Manager
The Accreditation Manager will report directly to the Dean of Engineering and will work closely with the Dean to coordinate curriculum development, staff capability enhancement, and accreditation-related improvement initiatives required to achieve the Faculty’s accreditation objectives.
Functionally, the position is accountable to the Director of Quality Assurance for compliance with the University’s quality assurance framework, accreditation standards, policies, procedures, audits, and reporting requirements. The incumbent will maintain regular coordination with the Quality Assurance Directorate to ensure that all accreditation activities align with institutional, national, and international quality standards.
The Manager will lead and coordinate all accreditation functions through continuous improvement processes, quality checks, audits, monitoring, and inspections to achieve and sustain full accreditation of the University’s Engineering Programs with Engineers Australia and the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST) respectively.
Primary Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Expand the scope and range of international Accreditation of all courses offered at PNG University of Technology (refer to applicable Strategic theme)
- Manage the Accreditation Process of the University
- Plan, organized and direct the University’s Accreditation Program
- Rapidly build knowledge of accreditation requirements among all engineering and science staff.
- Develop Work Plan, manage workflow, identify and track risks, and set clear goals to achieve the Accreditation program.
- Manage the University’s Accreditation Plan and inform colleagues about any of its impending KPIs.
- Conduct Policy review and revision to improve accreditation processes and procedures to determine compliances.
- Conduct training classes and workshops for accreditation processes
- Maintain and evaluate accreditation compliances to standards and requirements.
- Conduct inspection reviews on all processes, procedures, workflow, and documentation.
- Liaise with the university’s Industrial Liaison Manager and ensure industrial training requirements for accreditation are met.
- School Industrial Advisory Committees.
- Work with the Dean of Engineering and the External Accreditation Advisor to secure necessary documentation for accreditation.
- Executive Officer of the Engineering Executive Committee and the University Engineering and Science Industrial Advisory Board.
- Prepare forms and documentation
- Attend accreditation meetings and training
- Provide support to the accreditation committees and those that are involved.
- Track progress and provide timely reports
- Monthly Report to be provided
- Managing administration functions
Qualification & Experience
- The ideal candidate should possess a Master’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related discipline from a recognized institution, with at least 5–10 years of relevant professional experience in a reputable organization.
- The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership, analytical, and decision-making skills, with demonstrated competence in statistical process control, data analysis, and effective negotiation. They must be highly computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook), and have a sound understanding of management systems and external audit requirements.
- The candidate should exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, maintain a high level of attention to detail, honesty, and transparency, and be a people-oriented team player capable of performing effectively under pressure while managing demanding workloads and negotiating contracts and agreements successfully.
Note: This position requires someone who can work long hours and sometimes weekends as well as when required.
Conditions of Service
- Base Salary: K66,060 – K80,740 per annum
- Domestic Market Allowance: K22,683 – K40,199 per annum
(Level of appointment depends upon qualification and experience)
