Papua New Guinea University of Technology Press (PNGUoT Press) is the official publishing arm of PNGUoT, established to strengthen the University’s mission of excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and national development. As a government university press, PNGUoT Press is committed to transparent, accountable, and high-quality publishing that supports Papua New Guinea’s educational, cultural, and knowledge priorities.
The Press focuses on textbooks, teaching guides, research monographs, lab manuals, and culturally significant works that address local learning needs while meeting international academic standards. A core priority of PNGUoT Press is to nurture young writers, early-career researchers, and emerging voices, expand readership across Papua New Guinea, and promote novels, fiction, and non-fiction that reflect national stories and experiences. The Press is also committed to publishing in local languages, including Tok Pisin, to strengthen literacy, cultural identity, and inclusive access to knowledge.
PNGUoT Press is led by Eric Kuna, (Press Manager), who was awarded a Gold Fellowship at the Chennai International Book Fair (CIBF), recognizing the Press’s growing engagement with the global publishing community. Under his leadership, PNGUoT Press has participated in international roundtables on inclusive and accessible publishing, including the global Print Disability Conference, reflecting the University’s commitment to equity, inclusion, and knowledge access for all.
As a new and forward-looking university press, PNGUoT Press embodies PNGUoT’s values of innovation, service, and impact positioning the University as a national leader in publishing that empowers young writers, strengthens literacy, and connects Papua New Guinea scholarship and stories with the wider world.
“We invite you to join us on this literacy journey in both writing and partnership, to push readership and literacy beyond borders.”
