Department of Open & Distance Learning (DODL)

The Department of Open and Distance Learning (DODL) recognizes that, education is a fundamental human right and a force for sustainable development and peace. It empowers people with knowledge, skills, and values to live in dignity, build their lives and contribute meaningfully to their societies. It is within this spirit that DODL commits to expand access to education through Online and Distance Learning modalities.

1. Online Education

The development of online education at this University is a direct outcome of strategic reforms outlined in the University Strategic Plan (2020–2024), approved by the University Council. Central to this strategic vision is the externalization of academic programs; an initiative intended to making higher education more accessible to all qualified and motivated learners, irrespective of geographical location. By leveraging technology and flexible delivery methods, the University aims to equip learners with relevant competencies, thereby enhancing their capacity to lead productive, meaningful, and socially responsible lives.
