MARKETING MANAGER

This is a leadership role providing direction in promoting the visibility of the university’s reputation, attracting students, building partnerships, and promoting the university’s role in teaching, research,and innovation. The Manager is responsible for ensuring all programs, research outputs, and achievements are effectively promoted to communities in PNG and abroad.

Primary Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities and Delivery/Resources:

  • Marketing Strategy and Planning (Delivery Focused):
    • Lead and manage the marketing team to deliver creative, high-impact campaigns across all platforms.
    • Develop and implement a detailed marketing strategy that aligns with the University’s Strategic Plan and includes measurable KPIs for student enrollment, research dissemination, and brand perception.
    • Resource Management: Plan and manage the marketing budget, allocate resources across digital and traditional channels, and produce performance reports against targets.
  • Promote University Programs and Research:

    • Design and execute targeted marketing campaigns to increase student enrollment (undergraduate and postgraduate, on-campus/online) and retention.
    • Translate complex academic and research outcomes into accessible, engaging content for diverse audiences (industry, government, public).
  • Marketing Content, Branding and Communication (Resources/Channels):

    • Manage branding, communications, and public relations to ensure consistent and professional messaging across all touchpoints.
    • Oversee and directly manage all digital marketing platforms, including the university website (CMS), social media, and online portals, ensuring they are current, optimized for search engines (SEO), and effective for international audiences.
  • Networking and Collaborations:

    • Collaborate with faculties and academic schools to identify and communicate program strengths and graduate success stories.

Qualification & Experience

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.
  • Eight (8) to ten (10) years’ relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in digital marketing, social media management, and website content management systems (CMS) with a strong understanding of branding principles and marketing best practices.

Conditions of Service

  • Marketing Manager, Base Salary Range: PGK71,090 – PGK86,887
  • Base IMA Range: PGK96,481– PGK123,870 Per Annum
  • Base DMA Range: PGK83,489– PGK107,189 Per Annum

IMA = International Market Allowance
DMA= Domestic Market Allowance

(Level of appointment depends upon qualification and experience)
