Bulolo University College is seeking a proactive and experienced Library Officer to lead and coordinate library services that support academic excellence and research. This role is central to maintaining a well-organized, accessible, and innovative learning environment for students, staff, and visitors.
Primary Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily library operations, including circulation, cataloging, and acquisitions
- Supervise and mentor library assistants and support staff
- Manage digital and physical collections, ensuring accurate classification and accessibility
- Provide reference services and assist users with research and resource navigation
- Develop and implement library policies, systems, and procedures
- Organize literacy programs, workshops, and outreach activities
- Prepare reports, inventories, and statistical data for institutional planning
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Library & Information Services, Education, or a related field
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a library or academic institution
- Proficiency in library management systems and digital cataloging tools
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
Conditions of Service
- Base Salary – Library Officer I/II: PGK 22,800 – PGK32, 644 per annum
(Level of appointment depends upon qualification and experience)
