Applications are invited for the position of One Research Assistant/Project Fellow for the period of one year purely on a temporary basis to work in the TUPU Pacific Research Grants Activity (File Number: ABN 90700613342 dt. 30.03.2026) entitled “Decentralized Bioconversion of Pacific Organic Waste into Medium Chain Fatty Acids (MCFAs) and Advanced Biofuels” under Prof. PRASANNA KUMAR YEKULA as Principal Investigator

Primary Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct laboratory experimentson anaerobic fermentation and biofuel production
  • Perform feedstock characterization and chemical analysis
  • Carry out biofuel synthesis (esterification/transesterification)
  • Maintain laboratory records and ensure quality control
  • Assist in data analysis, modelling, and report preparation
  • Participate in project meetings, workshops, and training activities
  • Support the preparation of publications, policy briefs, and dissemination outputs
  • Coordinate with national and international project partners

Qualification & Experience

Candidates must have a minimum qualification of B.Sc./M.Sc./M.Phil, Chemistry or B.E./M.E./M.Phil. Mineral Processing Engineering with First Class is desirable.

Final year M.Sc. students appearing for the END semester examinations can also apply.

Conditions of Service

Fellowship:  K800 or K1000 per month for the period of one year or till the completion of the project, whichever is earlier.

(Level of appointment depends upon qualification and experience)
