Papua New Guinea University of Technology’s Vice Chancellor Professor Ora Renagi has been inducted as a Fellow of the Pacific Academy of Sciences (PAS) this year, in recognition for his leadership in higher education.
Professor Renagi expressed the importance of PNG’s representation in the Pacific Academy of Science, saying there are many shared issues in the Pacific, stemming from climate change, food security, and health, amongst other areas.
“This is where universities are collaborating to address the Pacific problems through research.”
Backed by PNGUoT’s vision to become a leader in scientific research that is impacting society, Professor Renagi said “through these collaborations, our academics and researchers can be able to contribute to greater research and contribute with solutions to challenges facing the region.
