Laboratory Technical Assistant
The Papua New Guinea University of Technology (Unitech) invites applications from enthusiastic and capable individuals for the position of Lab Technical Assistant within the School of Applied Physics.
About the Role
This technical position offers a unique opportunity to support academic and student-led practical work in a dynamic laboratory environment. The successful candidate will assist in maintaining equipment, preparing lab setups, and ensuring safe and efficient operations during practical sessions.
Primary Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Support academic staff and students during practical classes and project work
- Monitor inventory and ensure availability of tools and components
- Uphold safety standards and assist in enforcing lab protocols
- Perform basic troubleshooting and repairs under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab spaces
Qualification & Experience
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Electronics and Instrumentation
- Age: Preferably under 25 years
- Recent graduates from PNG Technical Colleges are highly encouraged to apply

Conditions of Service
- Base Salary: Lab Assistant I/II Range: PGK17,826 – PGK24,403 per annum
(Level of appointment depends upon qualification and experience)
